ja muutuja y vastavate väärtuste hulka kuuluvat funktsiooni väärtuste väärtuste piirkonnaks ehk väärtuste hulgaks.

 

Ruutfunktsiooni graafik on

y-Telje suhtes sümmeetriline parabool ,

mille haripunkt asetseb kordinaatide nullpunktis ,

kui a> 0, siis avanevad parabooli harud ülespoole ,

kui a <0 , siis avanevad parabooli harud allapoole .
